Missouri Woman Settles Claim Against Driver And Vehicle Owners For $350,000
A Missouri woman who suffered a torn ligament in her knee after a pickup truck driver crossed over the center line and struck her vehicle head-on has settled her claim against the driver and the vehicle owners for $350,000.
Jessica Rhynes was driving from one client’s house to another when she was hit head-on by an 18-year-old driver in Ripley County, Missouri. The impact was so forceful that Ms. Rhynes’ dashboard pinned her legs to the driver’s seat, tearing her posterior cruciate ligament and requiring the jaws of life to extricate her. She suffered injuries to her left knee, left hip, and left ankle because of the crash. Ms. Rhynes underwent surgery to repair her PCL tear after conservative care and multiple injections failed to relieve her pain complaints.
Mark Cantor of Cantor Injury Law, representing the plaintiff, reached the $350,000 settlement with Farm Bureau and Shelter Insurance after withdrawing a $250,000 policy limit demand upon discovery of additional policies.
